Isaac loves his baby sister. He always wants to touch her and hold her. He is showing her how to use all her toys. He also wants to kiss her whenever she is awake. It is pretty cute watching him. Of course he is getting LOTS of attention from Grandma and Grandpa so we will see how he does when they are gone and the reality of having a sister really sinks in.

Big Brother
I am slowly coming out from the land of the dead. This second baby has been harder for me to recoup from than Isaac. In fact the day I got home with Isaac I packed him up in the car and went and watched our church softball game and sat on hard bleachers. The thought of doing that right now sends chills up my spine.
But we are slowly adjusting. My in-laws are here which is so helpful. I really don't know how people survive that first week without family. My mom was here for a month when I had Isaac and my in-laws are here for a week with Kayla. Then I will be on my own for a week and then my mom will come for 2 weeks. My sweet mother-in-law has been getting up with Kayla in the middle of the night and then all I have to do is nurse her.

But right now I will enjoy the sweet moments watching my son with his sister.

Those pictures are adorable. What a sweet big brother!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet! My sons both did well getting a baby sibling...even after the 'doters' had left the building. :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you're feeling better soon!
Congratulations! She is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteJust a little advance notice here...You are going to blink, quite literally, and your babies will be grown. Promise You...it goes that fast.
ReplyDeleteYou might not realize it right now, but in about 15 years you're gonna look back on these precious days and know I spoke the truth. My momma tried to warn me but I wouldn't listen...
Although I thoroughly enjoy the young adults my babes have become, I will FOREVER miss thier tiny hands held tightly in mine.
Blessings to you as you begin this journey...

OMG, that last picture made my ovaries twitch. Indy would love a baby sister or brother. Probably not going to happen, but it's nice to think about. Congrats on your beautiful little one and I hope Isaac continues to love big a big brother.
ReplyDeleteHey there...I am so with you on all of that...My body felt much worse after my 2nd...although she was 2 1/2 lbs heavier and 2 inches longer! Emotionally too it was harder for me. But, it all goes back and every day gets better and more "normal." As I am sure you know! Having family help is an awesome blessing! Please tell your in-laws that I said Hello...they are GREAT people!
ReplyDeleteMuch Love,
Melissa Ousdahl

What a sweet big brother....hopefully he remains that way once he realizes Kayla is staying!! It is so fun watching them interact with babies and its hard to control their kisses. Garrett wanted to and still wants to kiss Kate or "cakes" as he often calls her all the time!! We are looking forward to bringing dinner tomorrow and some snuggle time with Kayla.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beaut! Isaac suddenly looks like really big boy now.
ReplyDeleteThat's just wonderful that you have so much help. Enjoy it!
