I then had hubby GENTLY take it apart for me (he is so much better at taking stuff apart and remembering how it goes back together). BE VERY CAREFUL TAKING IT APART THESE ARE SUPER DELICATE.
Then I made a template of the piece of paper with the clock face on it and grabbed some scrapbook paper, a fake flower, eyelets, stamps, ink, scissors, and started to decorate it.
After I was all done I used adhesive to tape my decorated template into the clock and then gave it back to hubby. The dear hubby GENTLY put it back together for me (this is about as crafty as hubby will get with me ;-)
Pretty, easy, and cheap. I like those words. Then I hung it on her wall. This will be great for those late night feedings.
so cute! And I totally agree on the dimmer switch. It's great for kids that don't like to sleep in the dark too!
ReplyDeleteWow... you are giving me a lot of ideas for using scrapbook paper! : ) I love it! I can never find a clock that I like..... now I have plans.
ReplyDeleteOk Beckie, I'm not usually the decorated clock type, but seriously, this is one of the cutest ones I've ever seen. I LOVE the words on it -- Fantastic Job!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are unbelieveably creative! Where do you get this stuff? Wow...the clock's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty--and I *love* dimmer switches in my children's rooms!

so cute and easy!
ReplyDeleteOk...that is so cute!
ReplyDeleteSo boog..........are you starting to get into clocks like your mudder?
Can't have enough of them, ya know?
;)
Mom
What a great idea! I too love the words on the clock. I never thought of a dimmer switch in the babies room...it was either the closet door cracked with the light or in the dark for us!! HaHa...the things we do to try to keep those babies from waking too much!!
ReplyDeleteHi Beckie I just found your blog and you have such great ideas
ReplyDeleteI really like the clock idea, I'm actually going to do this for the clock in our living room.
Wish me luck on getting it back together correctly
Wow, this is great! What a fun project, I'll be linking.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the inspiration! I have now made over our kitchen clock, especially to help my son tell the time, the old Roman Numerals made it a bit difficult for him at times!
ReplyDeleteThanks again!
Loved the idea. I'd tried this once, but couldn't get the hands off. But it was a super super cheapo one from IKEA. Which suddenly quit working, even with new batteries. So I guess it's just as well.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, what is "infarrantly"? : )
Really pretty! How did you do the template on the paper though? I'm still a little confused about that step. Did you just print out a clock face (the numbers and all) on the paper and stick the whole thing over the round white piece?
ReplyDeleteHi, glad I found you via SITS. I love this idea, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI just bought some clocks to make for the grandparents (the very same clock as you did apparently). I was going to replace the numbers with pictures of the kids holding numbers. Would you Mod Podge those pictures on? I tried FB the Mod Podge Rocks lady but havent heard back. Thanks for such great ideas!
