Bible Cyst

So I finally got my ganglion cyst removed today. I could have someone hit it with a bible but I opted for surgery. This post will probably take me forever since I am typing with one paw. It was huge...about the size of a large marble. Ewwwwwwwwww gross! I look like an old arthritic lady.

I tried using my photo editing program to make myself look better. LOL! But it didn't work...I would need a professional to edit/airbrush me to look like a movie star. But here I am in all my natural glory waiting for surgery to begin. What do you think I could make out of my hairnet? Hmmmmmmm...

It took about an hour and they knocked me out for the procedure. I woke up tired and spacey and had a paw that looked like this...

Poor, poor baby!

I don't know how I am going to survive without use of my hand until it heals up. I have so many projects in my head and no hands to do 'em. My head might explode. I may actually have to post about real life and not my creative life...watch out! Maybe I will onslaught you with pictures of my kids, or how about me as a teenager with blonde hair? Those are fun pics.

How about you...what do you think I should post about for a week? If I pick your idea I will send you a prize. I don't know what the prize will be but you can be sure it will be handmade and fabulous (hopefully).

  2. Get better soon!

I suggest posting ideas you find from other sites that you want to create when you are better. Will make you feel motivated! Kind of like you did with the fabric book spot. Show us inspiration pieces you would like to create... it will be like a teaser for us of what is to come :)

Again..get feeling better. I will miss your projects!!

  3. I cant believe they prepped you like major surgery! They KNOCKED YOU OUT? Good god. I had no idea it was such an ordeal.

It's about time you took care of that thing.

    love ya! Heal fast.

  4. Oh! Praying for a quick recovery for you!

You have lovely hands--what are you talking about?! no need to photoshop them!...but they are going to be in need of projects to do...perhaps you could blog about one-handed projects?...or I do like the idea of old photos of youu...maybe a 'walk down memory lane' kind of thing...adorable pics of the kiddos are also always crowd pleasers :)

  5. You could post 3-5 randomly-selected pictures from your computer Pictures folder every day. Reminisce about each picture, whether its a story/event or just "This is the fuzzy shot I keep forgetting to delete." That will distract you from your recovery, entertain your readers, remind you of all the good times you've forgotten to blog about, and encourage you to spend your leftover recovery time paring down your Pictures folder. LOL

I can't believe how swollen your hand looks...WOW! When I had one the Dr. said he could numb it locally and remove it (you had some surgery going on there) or if I stop what I was doing repeatedly it might go away on its own; I was lucky the little bugger left on its own. What did they say caused it? Something repetitive?

You could do posts on those school years, how you met Tim, the proposal, the wedding. All gals like that kind of stuff. Do a blog on your town, the favorite places that aren't nationally known, shops, restaurants, places of history. Now I am making you get in the car toting two kids and taking pictures...OK scratch that idea. Blog about random thoughts through out your day as you rest.

  7. Oh yes, I want to see you blonde !!!! We have to see your blonde; you know to see if you look like Marilyn Monroe. Baby pictures could be fun too (to see if your babies look like you or not ;-) )We can challenge you to show your weirdest picture ! Oh come on, you know you have one or two !!! lol

Take care of your paw ;-) Maybe, it's time for your husband to spoil you while you recover ;-)

  8. That was a big 'un! I say post about daily life - so we can see what your world looks like minus the amazing crafts and creations... like your daily routine - your freebie scores - funny things your kiddos said or did - pics of kids would be fun since we haven't seen near enough of those lately - a finished pic of the kitchen (like a full view) - your yard pics (any flowers or gardening happening)... the list could go on and on...

  9. Oh my goodness!!!! What ARE you going to do? Can you pick up your babe?

My hubby gets them. I think he did try the book thing once.

    Poor, poor you.

I want to hear about life when you were little. Fav memory or something crazy you did as a kid.

  10. As a fellow crafter I would love to hear about projects that maybe didn't, well hummmm, work out as well as you had hoped. We all have those projects that we're stoked about starting and then somewhere in the middle to nearing the end of it (try as we might) have to throw in the towel, laugh out loud (or cry) and realize that it just wasn't the best idea!

Best of luck to your recovery.

    Becky

  11. Get well soon! I vote for you writing about the top 10 (or however long you are recovering) things you would like to do in your life. It could include crafts, of course, or you could really think outside the box. :)

  13. OK... You're not going to feel like posting today or tomorrow... but I'm betting you're going to get bored and need to let loose those creative juices soon... so I'd say, how about taking pictures of all the creative things you've done in the past year that you haven't remembered to post...
Oh, and those cuties (your son and daughter) wouldn't hurt...
And, how about if you blog about how your husband pitched in to help???? That's 3 days worth, right there...
Then you can go and steal pics and ideas from other pages of things you plan to do when your hand has recovered... That's a couple more days... And before you know it! Voila! Your hand will be back from the "beyond"!!!!
In the meantime... how about thinking of how to make that bandage a bit more creative? Bows? A ribbon wrap? Something that makes a trademark for you???

  14. I hope you are feeling better soon! If you are able, I think it would be fun if you post about your kids or a "tour" of your house to share your creativity. Otherwise just rest and take care of yourself.

  15. Good grief, girl, I looked at people in those ugly hats for 10 hours today, and now I'm relaxing and reading blogs, and what do I SEE? another blue hat.

I agree with Stefanie, post what's inspiring you! Or at least an idea list so your head doesn't explode! :)
Feel better, and follow your good nurse's directions.

  16. I think you should post 101 things you can create with only one hand! Now that could be exciting :) Hope you get feeling better. I really enjoy your blog.

  17. Ow! And one hand? How are you going to get your bottle of Vicodan open...?

I agree with Sarah and would love a "tour".

  23. Hope you feel better soon. I think I have one of those on my hand too! but it is not as big as yours, mine is about the size of a pea. What made you get it removed? Was it painful? Mine doesn't bother me...but it is weird looking. Glad to know I'm not some weirdo! Feel better!

  28. Hi there and congrats on being the SITS feature of the day!

You have a fantastic blog. It makes me wish I was more crafty myself, but I'm proof that crafty is not a family trait.

I hope you heal quickly so you can get back to everything you love, from crafts to kids!
