I’m a Purdy Girl

I have been discontent with the crown molding I hung in Kayla’s room. It just didn’t pop like I had hoped it would. The white crown molding just blended with the ceiling. A couple of weeks ago my friend Sarah, you know her as Thrifty Decor Chick, encouraged us to paint our ceilings. Then it hit me…”DUH, why hadn’t I thought of that?”

A couple of weeks ago Purdy contacted me and asked me if they could send me some paintbrushes to try out. I said sure as long as they sent an extra set for one of my peeps (see I got your back!). They gladly obliged. So one of you lucky readers will win a Purdy Multi-Pack with a 2.5” angle brush and a White Dove Roller. More on that in a second…IMG_0464 I thought using the angle brush would be perfect for cutting in on the molding. Now I am already a Purdy girl. I learned after many projects that it is worth the money to buy a good brush. Plus if you take care of it, it will last forever. I have the 1” angle and the 2” angle brushes already. I was a little nervous about using such a big brush but it worked wonderfully covering more area with perfect results. I also used the nap roller to roll on the rest of the paint. I must admit I could not tell a difference between the Purdy one and the cheap ones that I normally use.

So what do you think of the before and afters?

I think painting the ceiling did the trick. The molding now has a place in the room. If you want to see more of Kayla’s room click here. I am pretty sure it is my favorite room in my house.

Onto the giveaway…who wants to give Purdy a try? Leave a comment telling me which of your projects needs a Purdy brush. I will pick a winner on Thursday and you will have 24 hours to claim your prize.

  10. Love Kayla's room so cute!!
I could use the brushes for several projects. I could use it on the chalkboard wall I have decided to do in my kitchen. I could use it to help me cut in around my living room and hallway which I have decided must be repainted. I could use it on an old lingerie chest I was given that I am completely redoing.

  16. The painted ceiling does make a difference, you now notice the crown molding.

Purdy brushes! Love them. I helped my Dad on a painting project recently and the one stipulation was that he get some decent brushes. (He didn't, but luckily I had brought my Purdy brushes!)

  34. My kitchen and bathrooms need a Purdy brush, as well as all of the trim in my house if I finally decide to paint the stain and make it white. By the way I am so proud of you and your persistence to run the Burbon Chase. I have just started running, how long did you train and how often and how far did you run? I have a long way to go, but hope to do some runs in the future. Jackie

Sadly the wood putty I used to cover the nail holes doesn't stain right so it has little light spots where every nail is so sadly I have to paint it. A nice brush would really help. I am a little bummed but what can you do right?

  68. Our new house already had molding in the bedroom and when we had the house painted (inside and out) we opted to not paint the ceiling in the bedroom...we were wrong...it needs it...the molding definitely gets lost in the ceiling and now I feel the need to make it P.U.R.D.Y.

Can you show a sister some love? B:)
