Here is the note Ollie left Isaac outside of his bedroom door last night…
Hi Isaac, you are such a fun boy. I am so glad Santa sent me to your house. I had fun yesterday when you and your daddy were hiding me. You are very good at hide-n-seek. I like to play with you.
I love when you sprinkle me with the Magic North Pole Snowflakes. It makes me act all silly. I got in trouble again while you were sleeping. I have another hint for you to find me. I like playing play with things that go vroom vroom, beep beep or honk honk. Where do you think I am?
But wait. Before you find me. I have to tell you more of the story...Do you remember what part of the story we left off at from yesterday?
So Mary and Joseph became husband and wife. They had to go register for their taxes. Back then they did not have cars. So Mary and Joseph loaded all their stuff up and rode a donkey into town. They took food with them and clothes for the baby. The long journey lasted days and they walked most of the way. When they reached Bethlehem it was full of people and Mary and Joseph could not find anywhere to sleep.
Here is the mess that Ollie left behind…

I love this tradition! I wish my boys were younger! Rest assured I am printing all your elf posts for when I have grandchildren, because I think this is the most exciting way to share the story of Jesus's birth with young children while engaging them in the silliness and joy that should always accompany Christmas. I can't wait to see what's next!
ReplyDeleteFairbanks is making his debut tomorrow morning. I am going to have to combine some parts of the story to catch up!! Can't wait to see Garrett's reaction in the morning.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea~!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great idea! I will file this away for next year! Your boy is going to grow up with great memories of Christmas.
