Kiss Me, I’m Irish Board

kiss me i'm irishMy family always made a big deal out of St. Patrick’s Day.  My dad is of Irish decent, however, he is not full-blooded. With as big of a deal as he made out of St. Patty’s Day you would have thought he had lived his whole life in Ireland.  We had corned beef and cabbage (blech!), had to wear green, and there were years he the day off work to celebrate the day by going with my sisters to an Irish pub to drink green beer. So in honor of his favorite holiday I made a “Kiss Me, I’m Irish” Board.

I used the same directions I gave you for the Countdown to Kisses board.  I used Emerald Green spray paint by Krylon.  The paper I got at Michaels and is the Green Damask by Recollections. I drilled 20 spots rather than 14 like I did on the Countdown to Kisses board.  Since I had a spray paint accident on the sides thought it added some flare I added strips of coordinating paper to the sides of the board with Mod Podge as well. IMG_2181 I cut it all out with my super awesome Silhouette machine.  If you have a Silhouette and would like the files send me an email at infarrantlycreative@gmail.com and I will send them your way.kiss me i'm irish

  5. I didn't look at your Kisses tutorial before this one, and didn't realize the circles were actual kisses...I thought you used beer bottle caps for the St. Patty's Day one. You know- beer and Irish;) LOL. Cute either way!

  12. you just haven't had corned beef and cannage cooked the right way it's delish!!!!! Here's my families traditional recipe, it takes alot of time but is sooo worth it. It's my husband favorite meal! We go big for St. Patty's in our house too!

    Corned Beef and Cabbage

Corned Beef Brisket (with seasoning packet)
    Cabbage (chopped)
    Carrots (peeled and chopped)
    Russet potatoes (peeled and chopped)
    Mustard
    Brown sugar

Bring water to a boil in a three quart or larger pan
Add corned beef and seasoning pack
    Lower heat to a simmer
    Simmer for 12 hours
Remove corned beef from pan-reserving water
(Keep the water-do not dump it out!)
Place corned beef on plate and put in the fridge

Once the Corned beef has cooled in fridge

Remove the fat from the corned beef
    Place in foil -lined pan
Spread mustard thick over corned beef
Press brown sugar into the mustard ‘til mustard is no longer seen
Place in oven and cook at 350 for 20min

Start veggies when you put the corned beef in the oven

Place chopped carrots and potatoes in pan with the water from the corned beef
Boil for 20 min (time may vary)
10 min into the boiling of veggies add cabbage and boil for the remaining 10 min

    Drain veggies and serve
